The Regional Education Committee (REC) is a group of elected and appointed parishioners from SJB’s seven supporting parishes*, who work with the Principal and Vice Principal in the running of the school.
The REC represents the Board of Directors of the CISVA at the local level, implements Archdiocesan policies and sets local policies for St. John Brebeuf.
The Education Committee of SJB is comprised of the Pastor (Archbishop’s Representative), and 12 other members representing the following parishes: St. Joseph’s (Langley), St. Nicholas, Sts. Joachim and Ann, St. James, St. Ann’s, St. Mary’s and St. Joseph’s (Mission).
All parents are welcome to attend Education Committee meetings, which are held one Wednesday a month at 6:00pm. Meetings are open except for in-camera sessions.
Should you wish to present at a REC meeting, please email your request to the Chairperson no less than seven (7) days prior to the next meeting. REC meeting dates are listed on the school calendar.
*Families active in these parishes are given priority during the selection process for admission to SJB. While SJB enjoys a close relationship with the three elementary schools associated with our supporting parishes and encourages Catholic education at all levels, attending Catholic elementary school is not a prerequisite for admission to SJB.
